Throwback Tuesday: Labyrinth

Throwback Tuesday: Labyrinth

17th December 2013 // By Glaiza Perez // Must Watch
I was first introduced to this classic fantasy film via a tweet about David Bowie’s tight leather pants. Pictured above: A theatrical form of dress with Bowie’s glitter make-up and his lovely rock croon ready to go as the perfect Goblin King.

As for the basic plot of the film: a Goblin King has taken the annoying baby brother of a random teenager on Earth. Attempted rescues and 80s ballad cheesyness ensue. If you haven’t been exposed to the world of the Labyrinth, it’s definitely a film worth watching with kids in tow (especially if they have siblings). Sit stray children in front of the screen while you stare at David Bowie during the holidays. Labyrinth is the love-child of Jim Henson, George Lucas and David Bowie. Such a strange child. Maybe you’ll love it. Take a look at the musical ‘Magic Dance' and the rock operatic 'Within You.’
