Classical music conjures penguin themed orchestras catering to the elite and the elderly - but is this a skewed reality - or just a soundtrack fading out under the electronic blare of the present? Warhol’s Children’s Hannah Chapman questions the life cycle of the classical while meeting the lurkers surrounding live performances. We sidestep into the live instrumental world of cinema and street dancers.

Read it on The American Modern here: http://www.theamericanmodern.com/post/37365033033/classical-of-the-kind-composed-by-dead-white-europeans Image Credit: Michael Goldberg. We hope to do an interview with this photographer at some point soon, until then check out his work at: http://www.featureshoot.com/2012/07/cinematic-street-portraits-by-michael-goldberg/ Imags used by kind permission of the artist.
