Why are you passionate?

The birth of a child should be a time of celebration but for many mothers and babies in developing countries it is a dance with death. In Cambodia, a country ravaged by extreme poverty, babies are often raised on the harsh streets.

Why are you passionate?

I am passionate about celebrating diversity and culture. We should all take the time to learn from and appreciate our differences (and similarities). This image represents a young Indigenous man's pride in his culture.

What I see as beautiful may differ to what you see as beautiful, but true beauty is embedded in the nature around us. We often look at the big picture and find it unpleasant, but it is sometimes.

Why are you passionate?

Skateboarding matters to me. I believe it is becoming bigger every year as a sport and a way of life, amazing talent rises from the community and for me creates a journey in my life.

1000 miles from a city? No, 7 miles from Sydney. Cabbage Tree Bay Manly was made a "No Take" Aquatic Reserve in 2002. In the 12 years since, sealife has returned and thrived, a lesson in environment and cities shining together.

If you want to shine a light on what matters to you, head over to the Canon Shine page and check out the competition, because no one sees it like you.
